Manages and directs the activities of a community education unit or department and supervises supervisory and professional staff members, leads program delivery and development, evaluation and implementation. Reviews and approves recommendations for programs.

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA/NIFA), and the 1862 and 1890 Land-Grant Universities (LGUs); operating in all states, including the District of Columbia, and the six U.S. territories.

EFNEP is a Federal Extension (community outreach) program based on nutrition education programs for low-income populations to reduce nutrition insecurity for low-income families and youth. Community nutrition education programs combine direct outreach and hands-on learning. Through the EFNEP nutrition education classes participants learn to improve their diets, improve nutrition practices, create a healthy shopping list, stretch a food budget, learn food-safety to prepare, cook and store food, and increase physical activity levels for an overall healthier and nutritionally balanced lifestyle.

Salary Range: Min: $58,500.00 to Mid: $83,400.00
