Student Assistant 3 (Social Media Assistant)

The UC Master Gardener Program is seeking a resourceful, motivated, and tech-savvy college student who is enthusiastic about building online communities.

Working within the UC Master Gardener Program statewide team, the Social Media Assistant develops social media content to support the UC Master Gardener Program and UC ANR’s mission and strategic plan. Under the supervision of the Digital Communications Specialist, the Social Media Assistant will work closely with designated lead communicators to develop campaigns targeting different segments of the UC Master Gardener Program audience while highlighting the program’s county-based volunteers, projects and practical gardening information and tips. 

The Social Media Assistant also establishes connections with program coordinators, staff, and volunteers, and supports their social media projects such as annual campaigns and promotion of program priorities.

He/she/they will be guided by the Digital Communications Specialist in following best practices for outreach on social media. 

This position is a limited-term appointment with 6-8 hours of work per week with flexibility. The schedule will be arranged based on the student's academic schedule.

Salary – $16.25/hour
