Dear Colleagues,
Continuing our commitment to hiring Cooperative Extension specialists and advisors, I am announcing the release of positions for future rounds of hiring. These positions are now in the queue and will be released for recruitment as we are sure funding is available to move forward. We will continue to be nimble and retain the ability to address unforeseen critical gaps as they emerge, so the hiring schedule may vary. Some positions have been, or may be, modified based upon timely programmatic analyses.

UC ANR will soon be hiring a UC Cooperative Extension term area advisor specializing in table grapes in Tulare, Kern and Kings counties. Thanks to an $840,000 gift from the California Table Grape Commission, the advisor position will be funded for six years by the $1.4 billion annual table grape industry.
"The UC Cooperative Extension farm advisor system is an integral part of the growth story of the table grape industry in California,” said Kathleen Nave, president of the California Table Grape Commission. Dear Colleagues:
After receipt of over 100 proposed positions and review of 800+ comments from individuals, agricultural organizations, governmental agencies, youth and nutrition coalitions and many others, I am pleased to announce the release of 19 new Cooperative Extension advisor and specialist positions. Hiring for the first seven positions will begin immediately in Round One. Hiring for Rounds Two and Three will begin approximately in February and May 2013 respectively.

Comments are still being accepted for the 100-plus Cooperative Extension advisor and specialist positions submitted in response to ANR’s 2012 supplemental call for academic positions. The positions are posted on the publicly accessible site www.ucanr.edu/callforpositions.
The positions website is also the featured ANR website on ucanr.edu.
ANR stakeholders as well as employees are encouraged to offer comments and provide input. The system will remain open to collect comments on the positions until Tuesday, Aug. 7.
