UC ANR Colleagues,
Our server-security monitoring tool Malwarebytes has detected and mitigated eight malware variants, one ransomware attempt, and 379 potentially unwanted program accesses. It also appears to have blocked thousands (2,648) of malicious web traffic destined to webservers. This malicious traffic accounts for increased CPU processing by Malwarebytes, which is our “firewall” designed to mitigate the swarm of attacks that reach each server.
Due to the significantly heightened level of processing required, we are currently experiencing intermittent disruptions within Information Technology applications over the last few days, which could affect one or more of the following...

Dear Colleagues,
We have seen an increase in the number of spoofed emails, a form of phishing/spam email.
Email spoofing is the forgery of an email so that the message appears to have originated from someone or somewhere other than the actual source.
The goal here is to have the employee (You) assist the supervisor purchase some gift cards. The email is structured in a sense that indicates the supervisor is not available, there is a certain sense of urgency and validity, and it is sent from a mobile device.

As of Feb. 20, 2019, all ANR personnel will need to use a new method to access ANR systems. Please note that this is a separate change from enrollment in Duo.
What is changing?
UC ANR has implemented a new login system that relies on information from UCPath. In beta testing since mid-2018, this new login system is referred to as Single Sign On or SSO. The goal of SSO is to make it easy for UC ANR personnel to access any web system needed for day-to-day work, such as the ANR Portal, Zoom, Project Board and the coming UCPath tools.
What you need to do
The new SSO system uses information from the ANR directory, so you don't need to...
Time is running out on ANR's Adobe Connect service. Make sure any video files on Adobe Connect that you need are saved to Box or YouTube ASAP. The following are steps you need to take:
1. Find out if you have any videos stored on Adobe Connect that are being used on a website.
2. If you have important files, convert them to MP4 files and save them to a local hard drive.
3. Upload the converted video to Box, YouTube or another third-party streaming service.
4. Replace the old URL link with the new video link.
As we've adopted Zoom as our new conferencing system platform, which also has MP4 recording function, we'll soon be canceling ANR's Adobe Connect subscription. We'd like you to finish moving...

A lot has been written of the Heartbleed bug, and server administrators are diligently patching servers. As security experts have had time to explore the bug and its effect, they are concluding the threat is not as bad as first thought. However, changing your password/passphrase is a good idea by any account.
Here is good read on the subject:
