We are pleased to announce Dr. Michael Anderson will be joining the ANR Program Council, beginning with the September meeting. Anderson is the Divisional Dean for Agriculture and Natural Resources in the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS) at UC Riverside. He is an Agricultural Experiment Station faculty member and Chair of the Department of Environmental Sciences. He represents CNAS on Program Council, filling the seat recently vacated by Jodie Holt who has retired. Anderson will bring the CNAS perspective and provide environmental chemistry expertise to the discussions. We are pleased to announce Carl Winter will be joining ANR Program Council, beginning with the June meeting. Winter is a Cooperative Extension specialist located in the Department of Food Science and Technology at UC Davis. He is filling one of the two at-large seats, succeeding Steve Wright, CE advisor in Tulare and Kings County. Winter will bring a CE specialist perspective and provide food-safety expertise to the discussions. The ANR Program Council advises the Vice President on Divisionwide planning and delivery of programs and develops recommendations for allocation of Division resources.

ANR is seeking a leader for the Sustainable Natural Ecosystems Strategic Initiative. In this role, the individual will provide leadership for the initiative including:
- working with the initiative panel members in revisiting and revising the Sustainable Natural Ecosystems (SNE) Initiative’s strategic plan
- shepherding the ANR Competitive Grants process
- planning and conducting Strategic Initiative Conferences
- identifying and initiating SNE projects such as development of policy briefs, special projects, etc.

ANR is soliciting nominations for a member of the ANR Program Council who can provide the perspective of county-based Cooperative Extension to inform Program Council discussions and recommendations.
The ANR Program Council advises the Vice President on Division-wide planning and delivery of programs and develops recommendations for allocation of ANR resources.
