Just wanted to congratulate the UCCE San Diego Team for raising $1,740.00 for the March of Dimes Baby Walk for 2011. For those who don't know, March of Dimes helps mothers to have full-term pregnancies and by researching the problems that threaten the health of babies.

Summers heating up, so break out the barbecue, swim suits and sunscreen! While summer is synonymous with having fun with family and friends, as Southern Californians, we know that this is also prime wildfire weather. The Wildfire Zone creates awareness of wildfire risks and hazards and offers tips on how you can reduce them. By working together as individuals and communities, we can all reduce the risks of wildfire. Check out this article that discusses the Naturally Raised Marketing Claim Standard which states "that livestock used for the production of meat and meat products have been raised entirely without growth promotants, antibiotics (except for ionophores used as coccidiostats for parasite control), and have never been fed animal byproducts."
