Farmers markets provide a variety of fresh-cut, seasonal fruits and vegetables, and other items directly from local Orange County farmers.
This year’s garden Show theme is “The Garden as Art.” The display gardens will represent either an art movement or a specific artist interpreted in a garden.
It's pretty amazing - Orange County Master Gardener volunteers conducted a class with donated supplies, resulting in a fun and healthy experience that will end up feeding hundreds of people.
No one can come close to conducting classes like this for so little cost.
Several people came up to me after the class and shared their gratitude.
This fun, hands-on workshop will introduce children to environmental awareness by teaching them the basics of recycling and plant life. In each 2 hour program kids will tour the Casa gardens, learning how to identify and grow water-wise herbs, succulents and California Native plants and then plant their own herb or succulent into a 4-inch eco-friendly flowerpot to take home. Families are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch to eat outside on the ocean bluff or in the amphitheater after class.
