Giving Tuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, nonprofits, families, businesses and students around the world came together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give. The California 4-H Foundation set a goal to raise $10,000 overall for California 4-H, inspire 100 new donors, and recruit new 4-H volunteers. The California 4-H Foundation Board agreed to match the first $5,000 in donations.
Together the 4-H Foundation beat their goal on #GivingTuesday and raised $13,780 in the #4HGiving Confidence Campaign! This includes over $6,000 in matching gifts from the California 4-H Foundation and Foundation Board. Placer County 4-H received the most...

The Ophir 4-H Club worked with Placer High FFA to create a unique display which many chamber members enjoyed. A big thank you to Gold Country Fairgrounds and Laurie Johnson for the invitation and opportunity! Dry Creek 4-H Club in Placer County accepted an invitation from the Placer Fair Board to start a garden at the Gate C entrance to the Placer County Fairgrounds in Roseville. Members of the Dry Creek 4-H Club gave Good Day Sacramento a tour of the garden early Saturday morning before they spent the day at the garden participating in an outreach event involving talking to the public and passing out flyers to promote 4-H. Many people stopped by to view the garden, take home a few ideas and tips, and talk to the 4-H members. This project focused on giving back to the community and all food grown at the garden will be donated to the Placer Food Bank upon harvest. Through this project, members were able to work together to plan...
