In this walkway, several hazards are present and can cause injury, fire sticks is planted too close to the sidewalk, yucca and bougainvilla have sharp spines and can puncture people, and sago palm is toxic to pets, and should not chew any part of the plant including the seeds which may roll into the sidewalk.

Participants commit to improving the safety of their landscape after receiving Cooperative Extension information about safely planting drought-tolerant plants, contributing to improved community health.
