I've had the same problem in my yard. Feral cat had 5 kittens under my deck. Got tired of cleaning up after them and Mama cat was terrorizing my two small dogs (was of course protecting her kittens). Got a cat trap from SPCA and was able to catch Mama and one kitten which I took to the Animal Shelter. Other kittens disappeared. Later I saw through the fence the neighbor was feeding them. After a while three (one disappeared) came back into my yard to live - they liked it better because I have grass, plants, trees and birds (and bark chips!). So time to go get another trap and so far have caught two more, with one left. A lot of trips back and forth to Animal Shelter, but otherwise there would be who knows how many more next year. The feral cat group says if people are going to feed them they need to be responsible to get them spayed or neutered. Maybe these kittens are young enough to to be tamed and could make good pets - they are cute.

This is an older Post, but I came across a documentary not long ago, on Feral cats. This may be part of the solution, and less stray cats. For more info check out http://www.humanesociety.org/issues/feral_cats/tips/what_you_can_do_for_ferals.html Good Luck!

It's not only cats that "poop" in yards; Ive seen all animals relieve themselves in yards! If everyone would work together in a "spray/neuter/release" program, how much nicer a world it would be!!!
