I would like to see the program extended. It's an invaluable tool to get employees' near retirement to commit to retirement so we can make plans to ensure no to minimal disruption in services the "retiring" employee performed.

I support renewing the Phased Retirement Program. I am planning to retire on June 30, 2015 and hope to help minimize the loss of a critical position by volunteering as a non-academic emeritus Advisor. However, there is an uncontrollable covariable called a "wife" that may influence the amount of time I can volunteer. The phased retirement program and it's incentives would be an excellent way for me to transition into retirement and enable the office to provide my service and expertise until another academic position can be approved.

I think this is a great program to offer to employees. Though I myself wouldn't have a need to transition into retirement. I think I can manage fairly easily. I do see it as an opportunity for the departments especially while they recruit to replace your position and if any training is needed.
