We dug up both back and front lawns three years ago, so we don't qualify for the programs, but I can tell you, you may miss it. We discovered the pathetic sod blankets (these things were so poorly installed they never grew roots) had actually been mitigating some of the heat from the patio and from the sun bouncing off our neighbor's windows. We're currently planning out something that will include trees, vines and some shade for the patio, and if it rains, I have some super no mow grass seed waiting to be planted. On the plus side, water bill went from $300 every two months to $62. every two months. Good luck!
