Do syrphid flies lay eggs in solitary bee nests in the ground, and destroy the progeny?

Hi Elizabeth,  
Syrphid flies, also called flower flies, will typically lay a single egg on leaves or twigs on flowers and plants that have aphid colonies or other soft bodied insects.
