I understand that many people now use "footies" (the little socks that you get at shoe stores when trying on shoes)for bagging rather than paper bags. Many people claim great success with these - they are cheap, expand with the fruit and aren't such a problem with the wind. Do you know of any scientific trials with them, or if they really do work?

I haven't searched the literature for that type in particular, but I don't know why they wouldn't work. It should interfere with egg laying. One of our MGs is trying them this year.
