My view is that the California Biochar Association (CBA), should take the lead in defining the future direction of the use of biomass residues (waste) generated by agriculture and forestry in California. We should define what we advocate. At this point, I use Thor's definition in his latest email which prompted this discussion. According to Thor CBA advocates: "biomass resource conservation into biochar carbon sequestration, healthy soil first with energy component as value added by-product."  
 
This message needs expansion and explanation as part of our mission statement, in my opinion. With that done, we should look for other organizations and individuals who are willing to support our mission and advocacy. That is what "aligning" means to me in Thor's message.
