Parents from Hanford and Lemoore Family Resource Center completed the 4-class series Healthy, Happy Families! The class provided parents with positive parenting skills to promote children's healthy eating habits among their pre-school aged children. They learned about healthy habits, developing healthy routines, analyzing growth development, and encouraging their children to try new foods. To conclude the last lesson, children had the chance to work with their parents to cut fresh strawberries and bananas for their fruit parfaits. This allowed the parent and child to work together as a team, build self-confidence, use of imagination, and sensory experiences for the child. Parents look forward to implementing what they have learned and applying it to the way they raise their children.
