Spring is spectacular time to visit the Southern California desert!
This week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners, our own Dece Morgan will talk with Michaeleen Gallagher, the Director of Education and Environmental Programs at Sunnylands (former winter estate of The Annenbergs) in Rancho Mirage.
The Sunnylands Center & Gardens is 15 acres adjacent to the home where you can walk – at no charge - along the same paths many world leaders have strolled during their visits hosted by the Annenbergs.
Learn about the 70 species of desert-tolerant plants that are placed in a way to compliment the many pieces of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings bequeathed by the Annenbergs. Besides the flora, birders can enjoy the upward of 130 species of birds that frequent the garden grounds.
