I have a Hachiya Persimmon tree that will soon have lots of fruit. I have one friend who dries them by the hoshigaki method and am thinking of trying it myself this year. Did you know that these dried persimmons can sell for $40 + per pound?! I also make a gorgeous chocolate persimmon bundt cake and steamed puddings for Christmas. MGs: Call me if you want any Hachiyas.

I have dried these persimmons in a dehydrater and they are just like candy—sweet and chewy!
