The Currant Tomato
A Teeny-Tiny Tom
by Patricia Brantley
A Tiny Little Tom, That's not so plain to see,
Smaller than a cherry with cute names like "Sweet Pea".
A Beefsteak for a Barbie might be an exaggeration,
so lend me a bit of time for a tiny explanation.
Wild and Native to Ecuador and Peru
An Heirloom to most and to me and you.
Indeterminately it grows, In a tiny vine-y sort of way
And it can hybridize pretty easily, On any given day
Like its domesticated family, It enjoys plenty of sun
In the ground or in a pot, this mini fruit is ounces and ounces of fun!
can i have a few over-ripe fruits to dry seeds for germination next year?
i’ll be happy to share seeds from my vegetable garden: purple roma tomatoes, amaranth, etc
