Great articale - LOVE Alstromerias! My pink ones took over one of my gardens so I will just let it do its thing since it blooms so much. I am waiting to plant some new colors to go along with the pink in the fall.

A caution, not all alstromeria should be pulled. I am growing 20 or so different alstromeria in Davis. Some can be easily pulled, but with many, pulling them out will pull out the tuber, often with a newer flower forming on it. There are also different varieties that grow from a few inches to 5 feet. I cut my stems for easier harvest and protection of the root clump. My garden alstromeria last for quite some time with a little floral food added to the vase.
