Ed Laivo began promoting the idea of the "fruit bush method" in the 1990's as a way to make tree fruit more available to home gardeners. Most fruit trees grow too tall and become unmanageable. Fruit is difficult to pick, and most of it falls to the ground. The Fruit Bush Method helps keep trees under 6 feet tall, and still provides plenty of ripe, juicy, home grown fruit.
