Widespread rain, strong winds gusting 30 to 40 miles per hour, dangerous surf, hazardous roads, flood watch, maybe power outages.
That's the weather warning tonight.
So, this seems like a good time to post an archived image of a bright spot in the garden, a Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) nectaring on a Mexican sunflower (Tithonia rotundifola).
And to remind ourselves that spring arrives March 20.
There's an old saying (Old Farmer's Almanac): "Don't say that spring has come until you can put your foot on nine daisies."
Daisies? Dandelions would work, too.
But a flashy orange, black and silver-spangled butterfly nectaring on a species of the sunflower family (Asteraceae) is even better.
Stay safe. Stay sane. Stay shielded and sheltered.
