The anthracnose fungus has been confirmed in Australia, so we know this pathogen is over there. I did not find an official report about Xanthomonas in Australia. However, since this is a seed borne pathogen, it would be surprising if bacterial leaf spot has never occurred in Australia or wherever lettuce is grown. For either disease, however, rainfall and other conditions are required before the lettuce host is significantly damaged by Xanthomonas or Microdochium.
