Milk represents over $58,000,000 annually in sales in Sonoma County and continues to represent an important piece of the County's history. The UCCE Sonoma dairy program provides education, applied research, and outreach to help Sonoma County dairies continue to be innovative, sustainable, and in the business of dairy.

Randi and Randall

Randi Black received her Master's degree in dairy systems management from the University of Kentucky and her PhD in Animal Health and Well-being from the University of Tennessee.

Randi's graduate research focused on compost bedded pack barn design and management and the importance of exercise for postpartum health.

Randi plans to continue working in the areas of animal health and housing while adding important local issues to her program, including water quality,  nutrient management, and climate resilience.
