Gardening in Tahoe is not like gardening in the valley. The microclimates, elevation, and cold weather are just some of the things that make the area distinct, and a distinct challenge for those of us who love to dig in the dirt.

UC Master Gardeners are community members who have been trained under the direction of the University of California Cooperative Extension. Each volunteer has completed more than 50 hours of formal classroom training.

Master Gardeners offer classes on Growing Food in Tahoe during the summer months in Lake Tahoe. Listed below are some of our prior presentations on some specific edible plants.
