Latinos in California number 13.5 million, representing more than one-third of the state's population. Projections from the California Department of Finance reveal that Latinos are now expected to constitute the majority of Californians by 2042. And by the middle of the century, it is estimated that Latinos will be 52 percent of the state's population. At mid-century, whites will be the majority population in just 23 counties. Hispanics are projected to be the majority race/ethnic group in 22 counties.

There are 45 million Hispanic Americans who speak Spanish as a first or second language, making the U.S. the world's second-largest Spanish-speaking community, after Mexico. And at home, 78 percent of Latinos 5 and older speak Spanish.

These Spanish-language toolkit resources will help you address this vital and growing population.
