Pasadena City College offers the Climate Stewards certification course and the California Naturalist certification course in Los Angeles County. 

California Naturalist Certification 

Birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, trees and shrubs of Southern California. Identification, ecology methods of observing and recording.

Climate Stewards Certification 

ENVS 1 Introduction to Environmental Science, 4 units

Relationship of living organisms to the environment, including human impact on the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere and biosphere. Emphasis is placed on understanding of biological and physical science issues currently faced by society. Includes laboratory and field investigation of ecosystems and the environment.
