How to Join 4-H

The 4-H program year runs from July 1 to June 30. The online registration system generally opens around mid July and closes around mid June of each program year. The program age is based on the age of the child as of December 31 of the current program year.

Primary members are those that are five to eight years old. This age group cannot participate in large animal projects.

Junior members are those that are nine to ten years old. This age group can participate in any projects.

Intermediate members are those that are eleven to thirteen years old. This age group can participate in any projects.

Senior members are those that are fourteen to eighteen years old. This age group can participate in any projects as well as teen leader roles.

Individuals that are nineteen years and older can apply to be an adult volunteer.
