General Shooting Sports Information- Archery, Rifle & Shotgun

The California 4-H Shooting Sports Program instructs 4-H youth on the skills and discipline of a variety of shooting sports. Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol, Western Heritage, and Archery programming are supported at state level. Extensive training and certification of adult volunteer leaders are required. Participants learn about the safe handling of firearms and archery equipment while developing self-confidence and leadership abilities.

The 4-H Shooting Sports Program follows a standardized format, lists program components, and identifies clearly intended learning outcomes.

Contact your 4-H County office to determine what types of shooting sports are currently being offered.
