Once accepted into the Master Gardener training program, participants are encouraged to volunteer for Master Gardener projects. Opportunities abound. Typical activities for which volunteers are sought include:

• Staffing the Help Desk and Help Line
• Assisting with newsletter production
• Conducting gardening related demonstrations
• Helping with watering/weeding at the Demonstration Garden
• Being a greeter or garden aide on Open Garden Days
• Staffing Plant Sales at Open Garden Days
• Supporting the children’s activities at the Demonstration Garden
• Serving on the Master Gardeners Board of Directors or on committees
• Helping with school garden projects
• Coordinating publicity for all Master Gardener activities
