Description

In 2008, the goldspotted oak borer (GSOB; Agrilus auroguttatus) was attributed to be causing extreme decline and mortality to native oak woodlands in San Diego County. At that time, there was little to no information available about the morphology, distribution and management of this insect pest. Federal, state and local agencies and scientists with the University of California began collaborating immediately to develop a comprehensive strategic plan. For effective coordination, situation reports were written beginning July 2010 to provide status updates on activities and results for all aspects of the program: research, education and outreach and funding support.
