What to include in your message
- Tell us your city or nearest community in the county.
- Describe what you are seeing and when it started.
- Include clear photos. For plants, include the whole plant and close-ups. For insects, include top and bottom views if possible.

Trained UC Master Gardener volunteers respond to helpline messages during scheduled helpline hours listed below. Messages are returned as soon as possible during the next available helpline shift.

Bringing samples to our office
You may bring plant or pest samples to one of our offices during front office hours.
- Place all samples in a sealed plastic bag to prevent contamination.
- Small samples are best; a gallon-size bag or smaller is ideal.
- Do not bring loose insects, soil, or unbagged plant material.

This is the main UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE) office for San Luis Obispo County. The UCCE Auditorium is in the same building, and the Garden of the Seven Sisters demonstration garden is across the parking lot at the same address.
