Volunteer Development
To become a certified UC Master Gardener, volunteers must complete an intensive home horticulture training and pass an exam testing their knowledge and ability to find science-based answers to public inquiries. Most counties host a new training class either annually or biannually. Training programs throughout the state vary greatly in class size, lecture vs. hands-on time, and length of sessions. Find out how other counties structure trainings and get inspired to tweak your own.
