Reappointment
Per the UC Master Gardener Program Administrative Handbook, reappointment runs from June 1 through July 31. Reappointment resources, timeline, and responsibilities are outlined on this page.
All UC Master Gardener volunteers must be reappointed by their County/Area Director annually to remain active in the program and to continue acting as agents of the university. Volunteers are independently and personally responsible for meeting all administrative requirements necessary to secure reappointment by correctly submitting the following: Annual Agreement, Code of Conduct, and Driver's License and Insurance Information.
Reappointment Process
The reappointment process is mandatory for all UC Master Gardeners with the following statuses and achievements:
- Active and Limited Active
- First Year Master Gardener
- Master Gardener
- Gold Badge
- Platinum Badge
Note: Be sure to change all Trainees to First Year Master Gardeners in VMS following their certification and graduation. VMS will not prompt Trainees to reappoint unless their status is updated to First Year Master Gardener.
Reappointment Forms
Completion of reappointment using the online Volunteer Management System (VMS) is preferred. Paper documents should be made available to volunteers upon request.
