Join Marin County Supervisor Dennis Rodoni’s Office, County of Marin, West Marin Fund, and the Workforce Alliance of the North Bay (WANB) for a virtual session to explore workforce resources for local employers.

This session is open to all local employers—businesses, nonprofits, independent contractors, and public agencies—who are planning to hire in the next year. 

For agricultural employers, WANB offers support through several targeted programs:

• Work Experience (WEX): Connect with job-ready individuals placed in temporary, paid work experiences—ideal for seasonal or entry-level roles. WANB covers 100% of wages, taxes, and insurance for a typical duration of up to 320 hours, and are employees of CareerPoint Marin (or career center) and utilizes your business as a work site. This allows you to assess if it is a good fit before making long-term hiring decisions.
• On-the-Job Training (OJT): Receive up to 50% wage reimbursement for new hires as they build skills on the job. Participants are hired by and employees of the business. Contracts are for up to 1040 hours or 6 months, helping you recover training costs while growing your workforce.
• Incumbent Worker Training (IWT): Strengthen your existing team with funding to support job-related training, certifications, or upskilling. WANB can cover up to 90% of training costs, depending on business size, making it easier to retain valued workers and improve productivity.
• Customized Training: Design and deliver training tailored to your operation’s needs—such as new equipment, safety practices, or regulatory changes. WANB can share training costs when employees are hired or retained after program completion.
• Layoff Aversion: Access support to help retain staff during economic disruptions, such as temporary closures, production changes, or equipment upgrades. Solutions may include short-term training, referrals, or business continuity planning.
• Recruitment & Hiring Support: Get help posting jobs, screening applicants, and organizing interviews or hiring events. WANB offers no-cost support to streamline your hiring process and connect you with job-ready candidates.
• Rapid Response Services: If your business is facing layoffs or major staffing transitions, WANB can provide onsite support to affected workers, connect them to reemployment services, and help your business plan next steps.
