Robert L Woodke
Indigenous Disaster Resilience Advisor
Robert has a Ph.D. in Geography from UC Davis, where he worked with pastoral women in Senegal to plant forages as a potential solution to animal death during drought. He also holds an M.S. degree in Community Development and has served for 2.5 years in the Peace Corps in West Africa. Combined, he has ten years of experience working with rural communities and grassroots projects. Academically, he is interested in participatory action research (PAR) and participatory development (PD), which prioritizes local/indigenous knowledge in meeting community-specific needs.
