2026 Cover Crop Field Day
Friday, April 24, 2026, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Depart from the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, 5009 Fairground Road, Mariposa, CA 95338. Meet at 8:00 a.m. for check-in; the bus departs at 8:30 a.m. sharp.
Join UCCE Regenerative Agriculture Farm Advisor Sara Rosenberg for a day of on-farm visits covering cover crop demonstrations, variety trials, and no-till and minimal-tillage management. Stops include Happy Goat Farm and The Farm at Worman Mills / Sierra Cider.

Schedule
- 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. Meet at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds for check-in. Bus departs at 8:30 a.m.
- 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Happy Goat Farm: variety trial demonstration, benefits and uses of cover crops in the foothills, and no-till management options for small farms.
- 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. Travel to Sierra Cider.
- 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Farm at Worman Mills / Sierra Cider: view cover crops in orchards and in the pumpkin patch, discuss management for minimal tillage and orchard considerations, and hear about NRCS funding opportunities.
- 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Bus returns to the fairgrounds.
What to bring and expect
This is an on-farm event, so please come prepared to be outside. Water and light snacks will be available, but we recommend bringing your own water for the bus rides.
Seating on the vans is limited. Register in advance to reserve a spot. If you would prefer to drive yourself, please contact Sara Rosenberg in advance so she can share the route and parking details.
