Environmental Education Grant Program - EPA
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced the Environmental Education Grant Program, which supports locally and regionally focused environmental education projects that promote environmental stewardship and build environmental knowledge among students, educators, and community members. This program funds projects that design, demonstrate, and disseminate environmental education practices that increase awareness of local environmental issues and help participants develop skills to make informed environmental decisions and to take responsible actions toward the environment.
Environmental education (EE) includes educational and training activities for elementary, secondary, and postsecondary students and environmental education personnel. EE does not include technical training for environmental management professionals or activities primarily focused on non-educational research. Environmental information and outreach may support EE projects but are not sufficient on their own.
Program Priority Areas:
Applicants must address both priorities below:
- Educational Priority – Artificial Intelligence (AI): Projects must educate participants on the responsible use of AI to address local or regional environmental issues, including data collection, analysis, visualization, or prediction.
- Environmental Priority – Clean and Safe Water: Projects must focus on protecting drinking water and/or restoring and maintaining aquatic ecosystems.
