Guided Bog Walk
Join JDSF Biologist Robert B. Douglas, in partnership with UC Cooperative Extension and Jug Handle Creek Nature Center, to explore the unique plants, insects, and natural history of an ancient bog on the Mendocino coast. Formed over thousands of years, this bog is home to carnivorous plants, sphagnum mosses, and more!
Date: 2/28/26
Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm
Participants of all ages are welcomed. This hike is relatively flat with some uneven terrain. Dressing in layers, wearing sturdy shoes (it will get muddy!), and bringing water and a snack is recommended!
