PLANT: Posthuman Living Adaptive Negotiated Technologies

Designing Symbiotic Living with Plants

PLANT is a speculative design project that explores alternative modes of living shaped by human-plant symbiosis. Situated within the context of climate change, environmental degradation, and the more-than-human turn in design, the project asks how plants might hold greater agency in regulating the environments we inhabit. Through an immersive installation set in a near-future domestic space, along with narrative broadcasts, speculative artifacts, and system diagrams, PLANT imagines a world in which plants actively shape light, atmosphere, and spatial conditions in living space. Rather than positioning technology as a tool for human control, PLANT reframes it as a mediator that amplifies plant intelligence and enables collaborative survival between humans, plants, and environments.
