2026 California 4-H State 3D Championship

Pre-registration is required, no on-site registrations accepted! The range is a walking range in the mountains with some severe inclines and declines. Hiking shoes/ boots are recommended. Crocs/sandals are not allowed per 4-H policy. *In case of inclement weather, it may not be possible to host the shoot. If necessary, we will do everything possible to reschedule and not cancel.* Directions to the Range: Take Highway 190 East of Springville. At the white barn just past the town of Springville, turn left on to Balch Park Road. Proceed 3.3 miles to Bear Creek Road, turn right. The range is 1.7 miles past the turn. Look for the white gate and the Springville Archery Club sign on the left. There is no street address for the range. Eligibility: California 4-H youth members currently enrolled in the Archery Shooting Sports project and their leaders are welcome to participate. Competition: The competition will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the National Shooting Sports Championship 3D round. There are two categories: Compound and Recurve. At Nationals, there is no consideration for age; however, concession is made for age groups and there are maximum shooting distances for each. As much as possible, competitors will be paired with archers from other clubs and kept within their own age group. No archers will be allowed to preview or shoot the course after April 1, 2025. Buckles will be awarded for Champion in Compound and Recurve. Maximum Shooting Distances: *Age as of December 31, 2024* Juniors (9-10 years old)– 25 yards Intermediates (11-13 years old) – 35 yards Seniors (14-19 years old) – 50 yards Leaders- 50 yards Course of Fire: The course is 30 unmarked 3D targets. There are 3 sets of “tees” at each target, color coded for age groups. Scoring will follow the IBO format. Only one arrow will be shot at each target.
