UC Master Gardener Volunteer Norine Cepernich: Norine has been a lifetime gardener, after getting her start with her grandfather growing tomatoes in his San Francisco backyard. She became a Master Composter in 2009 and a UC Master Gardener in 2019. She is a co-lead at the UC Master Gardener Garden Education Center (GEC), where edibles and cover crops are grown year round. Composting is an important component of the garden, which yields impressive harvests.
