CNPS Native Gardens Tour
Spring is the perfect time to get inspired, and the 2026 San Diego Native Garden Tour is an event you won't want to miss! Presented by the California Native Plant Society's San Diego Chapter, this year's self-guided tour runs April 11–12 under the theme "Where Native Plants Thrive, We Thrive." The tour features 34 private gardens and 5 public gardens in the South Bay area, with southmost gardens open Saturday, April 11, and gardens a little farther north open Sunday, April 12. UC Master Gardeners and CNPS volunteers will serve as docents in each garden. Paradise Hills Native Garden, one of our UC Master Gardener Program Demonstration Gardens, is a featured stop on this year's tour!
Spring is the perfect time to get inspired, and the 2026 San Diego Native Garden Tour is an event you won't want to miss! Presented by the California Native Plant Society's San Diego Chapter, this year's self-guided tour runs April 11–12 under the theme "Where Native Plants Thrive, We Thrive."
The tour features 34 private gardens and 5 public gardens in the South Bay area, with southmost gardens open Saturday, April 11, and gardens a little farther north open Sunday, April 12. Each garden showcases at least 60% California native plants. They range from small-space urban plantings to larger immersive gardens. These native gardens support a range of wildlife; you may get to catch songbirds, butterflies, and native bees as you explore these biodiversity supporting landscapes. UC Master Gardeners and CNPS volunteers will serve as docents in each garden.
We are especially excited that the Paradise Hills Native Garden, one of our UC Master Gardener Program Demonstration Gardens, is a featured stop on this year's tour! Located at 6800 Potomac Street, it's a showcase of what's possible when native plants are grown with intention and expertise.
