Portable Edible Gardens: Grow Food Anywhere

Curious about growing your own food but short on space—or not sure where to start? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll build your own portable edible garden using a simple grow bag system designed for patios, balconies, or small outdoor spaces.

You’ll choose from a selection of seasonal vegetables and herbs, learn how to plant and care for them, and leave with the skills to keep your garden growing at home. No prior experience needed—just come ready to get your hands in the soil.

All materials are provided, and you’ll take your planted garden home with you.

To help us serve our community effectively, we ask that participants consider whether this workshop meets a real need for them—such as limited space, accessibility needs, or growing food for themselves or their household. This program is part of our effort to support individuals and families who benefit from additional access to fresh food growing opportunities.
