The New Arboretum Allstars and Climate Ready Plants

Join Katherine Bolte, GATEways Horticulturist for UCD Arboretum as she provides an overview of the UC Davis Arboretum's Climate Ready Gardening Program and All-Stars 2.0 plant list.
For 30 years, the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden has provided guidance to the region's gardeners through the All-stars plant list, a selection of durable plants known to perform well in our climate. With the impact of climate change apparent in our region, staff took the opportunity to review and revise the list and to provide additional recommendations through the Arboretum's new Climate Ready Gardening Program. This talk will provide an overview of the Climate Ready Gardening Program as well as highlight some of the plants recommended in the All-stars 2.0 list.
Kitty Bolte joined the Arboretum and Public Garden in 2022 and cares for many of the native plant collections as well as ornamental landscapes. She comes to the Arboretum with a decade of experience spanning work in the realms of pollinator research, habitat conservation and nursery management. In addition to collections management she supports outreach and volunteer programs and supervises California Climate Action Corps members serving at the Arboretum.
