'Leaf me a Clue', the secret life of leaves

Leaves are the first aspect of a garden most people see. They are the primary interface between a plant and its environment, making them the first responders to both ideal conditions and external stressors. Interpreting the "language of leaves" is essentially like learning to read a health status report. A basic understanding of the leaf’s lifecycle, its biological demands, and how leaves communicate stress can help the gardener focus on the response needed to help a plant in stress.
