Invasive Pests and Quarantines

There are multiple invasive pests of concern, including two quarantines in effect in Santa Clara County: one on citrus fruits and trees for the Asian Citrus Psyllid, and the other on fruit and vegetables due to the Mediterranean Fruit Fly. Become a Master Gardener

Ever think about becoming a Master Gardener? If you love gardening, are interested in science-based horticulture, and would enjoy sharing your knowledge with the public, this may be for you! UC Master Gardeners are trained to give talks and classes, staff a help desk, work in demonstration gardens, answer questions at events, and much more. The application process for the January 2027 class begins in summer 2026. Learn more about becoming a Master Gardener.
