| Description | This photo was taken after collecting the various produce from the Contra Costa Demonstration Garden (Our Garden) in August of 2016. Once the collection has been secured, it is then transported to the Monument Crisis Center (MCC) in Concord CA. MCC is a community-based non-profit family resource center for Central and East Contra Costa County which offers nutritious food, quality resources and referrals to low-income individuals and families in order to help them become stable and secure in the community. This particular week's donation amounted to around 500 pounds of vegetables and fruits. The total donations to MCC for 2016 amounted to around 15,000 pounds. The impetus for taking the picture was to capture a visual record of what is happening in Our Garden. |
