Description The new design features low maintenance, low water, and tough plants were needed to replace old overgrown hedges to discourage people from sleeping behind the bushes. A dry rock bed and new downspout drainage was installed to control flooding into the parking lot from winter rains. The old broken irrigation system was replace with Netafim irrigation tubing to control watering the drought tolerant plants. Some of the colorful beneficial attracting plants were propagated by members while the remaining plants, supplies, and rocks were purchased locally. The planting design was created to use repetition of form and color to create a unified appearance. The plant list included Phormium tenax 'Firebird', Mahonia aquifolium, Caryopteris, Zauchneria/Epilobium, Sedum 'Autumn Joy', and Astericus to name a few.
