Description	Photo taken January 7, 2014. It appears to be an egg sack or cocoon of some spider. I have not been able to identify it.I found the sac in some long, dry grass in my garden in Santa Barbara, California. I left it alone and did not see what came out of it. I have many spiders in my garden. I took a picture because I hoped to get it identified and I enjoyed the contrasting texture of the grass and the sac.
